Washington Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 25, 2026

This policy is for Washington residents, and for anyone whose health data we collect in Washington, as Washington's My Health My Data Act requires. It covers the Stug app ("Stug – Your Speech Companion!"), where JDIV Studios LLC ("we", "us") decides how information is used. In Stug Connect, our web portal for speech-language pathologists, we handle Student Data for the practice that uses it, under that practice's instructions; the practice's own policies apply, and our Stug Connect Privacy Notice explains our part.

1. The consumer health data we collect, and why

Speech focus. The area a parent chooses at setup, such as stuttering, articulation, apraxia, dysarthria, cluttering or lisp. It stays on the device, except that it is sent with each AI Speech Tutor message so the reply fits what the child is practising.

AI Speech Tutor messages. If a parent turns on the optional AI Speech Tutor, the text a child types, up to the twenty most recent messages, the child's first name and a broad age band are sent to generate a reply. Messages may reveal something about the child's speech or health. Our service keeps no message content.

Practice results shared with a speech professional. If a parent connects the App to their child's speech professional, the words practised, the sound targeted, whether each try was correct, and when and for how long, are sent so the professional's practice receives them.

We don't collect audio or recordings of a child's voice, voiceprints or other biometric data, photographs, or precise location. Everything else the App knows stays on the device.

2. Where it comes from

From the parent, who sets up the App, and from the child using it, on the parent's device.

3. How we use it

Only to provide the feature the parent asked for: a tutor reply, or delivering results to the chosen practice. We don't use it for advertising, profiling or training artificial intelligence models, and we don't sell it.

4. Who receives it

  • Cloudflare, which hosts our AI Speech Tutor service, and Anthropic, which generates tutor replies. Both process it only for us, to produce the reply.
  • Google Cloud, which hosts Stug Connect for us, and the speech professional's practice you choose, only after your separate consent to share with that practice.

We have no affiliates that receive it, and we never sell consumer health data.

5. Consent

We collect consumer health data only as needed to provide the feature you ask for: the AI Speech Tutor is turned on by the parent with the Parent PIN. We share practice results with a practice only after you give separate consent for that practice. You can withdraw consent at any time by turning the tutor off, stopping sharing in Settings, or deleting the App.

6. Your rights

You can ask us to confirm whether we collect or share your or your child's consumer health data, to see it (including a list of everyone we have shared it with and how to contact them), to delete it, and to withdraw your consent. Because nearly everything stays on the device, most of this is already in your hands in the App: resetting or deleting the App deletes it, and stopping sharing in Settings ends sharing with a practice.

To make a request, email support@jdivstudios.com. We may need to confirm the request comes from you. We'll respond within 45 days, or tell you if we need up to 45 more days and why. If we decline, you can appeal by replying to our answer; we'll respond to the appeal within 45 days, and if you disagree with the result you can contact the Washington State Attorney General at atg.wa.gov.
